Will you let him love you?

God keeps showing me dreams of actual past events mostly in my childhood or teen years, when I felt isolated and forgotten about. He revealed to me in such a way that he always remembered me. he always considered me. he always delivered me. that what the devil intended for evil, he turned it around and made it good. Because he is good and he wants good for me. What a special kind of love. I just admire the sovereignty and love of God. I'm sharing all this goodness about my father not to brag or make myself feel special at the moment but to let it be known what kind of heart he has for ALL his children. all you have to do is go to him with a whole heart, talk to him, cry out to him. But ultimately will you just let him love you? That saying just reminds me of the popular R&B song “Let Me Love You” by Mario that came out when I was in high school and it was one of my favorites. In 2004 to be exact,, the year that changed my life completely. That year is exactly 20 years from today and it also is the same year I first had a supernatural encounter with the LORD and his angels, that involved him saving my life but on the flip side, it also came with a lot of disappointment from people I thought I could depend on. It revealed an ugliness in humanity my young mind didn't know existed but God had to let me know. I wasn't a little girl anymore but coming into womanhood and I needed to guard my heart like my life depended on it. And that explains why I was always so guarded. I will share that testimony in full another day.

Back to the original topic, I know the song is secular but in every matter involving love, we have to know God is in it and that song is truly sweet. About a man who loves a woman who is in a relationship with a man who doesn’t know her worth. But the song basically tells her that he sees through her pain down to her heart, in a very special way. that she’s worth more than she knows because perhaps no one ever brought it out of her. And that he’s willing to be the man to show her a better way to love. and that’s exactly how God presents his love to us. He watches over us making a fool of ourselves, others trying to make a fool of us, run behind people who could never love us. we think getting them to love us will validate us but it’s a trick of the enemy of your soul whose motive is to wear you out, to waste your time, to block you from your destiny, To ultimately drain you empty. Why? Because you have something they don't have. The love of God is in you and it's a precious gem, so protect it. Love freely but not foolishly.  Jesus said: Do not give that which is holy to dogs and do not throw your pearls before pigs,for they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.") Matthew 7:6.  Anyway, the song offers this girl a way out by the man asking for her permission: “You should let me love you”  not by force because even God himself doesn't force his love on someone who refuses to receive it, you have to want the way out to get out. Some people never get out of the cycle of toxic relationships because they cling to the notion that fixing what is broken is love but GOD is the fixer, we are not, without his ability in us, we couldn't fix a sentence, let alone a whole human being.

The love of God is intended to be a beautiful exchange. Not divided, not one-sided but with our whole hearts.  Because love perfectly casts out fear(1 John 4:17-19) but halfway love leaves the door open for infiltration.  If only we could fully seek to examine how God loves us. How out of the love in his heart, his spirit continues to intercede for us, in matters that are beyond reach. The devil never fights fair.  But like the title of the song says, "Let me love you" God is who expresses that kind of love to us. God says: “Child, let ME love you. Let me heal you. Let me transform you. Don't be afraid. Don't be dismayed, for I am with you and If I am with you, who can be against you.” And suddenly, you will see love for the first time and realize it's been among you this whole time. It was always there. Always present. Always waiting. Always watching. Because true love knows what you need without asking, true love stands the test of time. I look back over my life and HE was always there indeed. What could have blinded me? Me not knowing it doesn't take away from the truth of it. A poet once said: "Sometimes it's so true, nobody will believe you" Not only is that statement poetic but prophetic because My God, how far have we gone for the truth to be so unbelievable.  You can’t say you never had his love or felt his tenderness if you never took the time to get to know it, if you never stopped to smell the roses, or if you never cared to notice. Keep a watchful eye on love just as love keeps a watchful eye on you.   © truly.sincerelyy

The Lord bless you, and keep you
[protect you, sustain you, and guard you];
The Lord make His face shine upon you [with favor],
And be gracious to you [surrounding you with lovingkindness];
The Lord lift up His countenance (face) upon you [with divine approval],
And give you peace [a tranquil heart and life].’
