Thinking out loud: Kingdom Spouses
Let me just be real here, I never heard of this term until recently but this is what I gather so far. “Kingdom spouse” is a term used in the Christian community to describe a God sent union between man and woman to edify and glorify the KINGDOM of God. Hence the term: Kingdom. Essentially, two individuals who are divinely brought together to unite as one to carry out the will of God in harmony. I worded the definition myself, so it might be a little off but I hope you get my point. God certainly does align and assign people, helpmates, friends, mentors and spouses into our lives. So, I believe that although the term isn’t used in the bible, the concept is biblical but if we’re not careful the enemy can even deceive well-meaning Christians in their journey. So many prophetic words about kingdom spouses these days and I wonder if the LORD could really be speaking to someone specifically in such a general way. I’m not doubting the prophetic gift being a real thing, I’m just a skeptic. I’m testing the spirit, basically. The Holy spirit will reveal all spirits in due time. I do believe the Holy Spirit is revealing truth and prophetic utterances to all in the body of Christ who are truly in tune. But it must be discerned in spiritual wisdom, in truth and in love.
We cannot seek to have our itching ears scratched by the things we want to hear and consistently deny and despise truth or God may give us over to a strong delusion and how terrible would that be? I know what it’s like to think God has something for you, but it was really the devil himself behind it. What a crushing feeling. How devastating but we must learn from our past deception and understand the devil will try many ways to weasel his way in to stop your breakthrough. I am coming to learn that when it comes to God aligning us with our kingdom spouses, it is not by force. He will not make either of the two make any moves, he will gently nudge, create the space and opportunity and then the rest is in the hands of our own free will. The right place, at the right time with the right mind. If you accept what is offered. Then God’s perfect will can be accomplished, however I believe that it is possible that we can miss out. And those missed connections become self-reflective lessons. You look back in regret thinking, right place, right time but clearly out of my mind. So then because God is so gracious and so good and he understands that due to a fallen world, I believe that God can create an opportunity again but this time, it’s clear there's some decluttering, maturation, developing needed in the person and this time may take a while. But it’ll be worth the wait because this time, you’ll be in the right mind. You’ll know how to identify what is truly sent as a gift from God. God is so true to his word that even IF we do miss out the first time around, I believe with all my heart that the second around will be even better. And you just never know if he will bring around what you thought you lost to begin with, or he will introduce you to something better than what you have in mind. I don’t claim to have this all figured out but I’m just coming to my own understanding and I am open to being corrected. I do know one thing though: Trust the LORD with all your heart and trust his process, trust his way, trust that he knows and wants the very best and in due time, hearts will align. So effortlessly. Like, Serendipity. And his will becomes what you wanted all along. Amen.
