A timely message from the living word

The book of Hosea is a must read, with urgency but more than just read the words on the pages, truly receive, and eat the bread of life and you’ll be satisfied. The great falling away is happening before our very eyes and the LORD is calling for us (people who know the word but abandon the word for the world) to repent. And just to add, you don’t have to know the bible front to back to know his words. You know his commandments, what he hates and what is an abomination to him, that is enough. God’s word is written on our hearts and it’s only a realization once we come across it and finally read but it was something we always knew. Not so much the details but the principle. He is calling his people because he has something to say but answering isn’t where it stops. Once he tells you what he is calling for, what will you do? Don’t say you know and don’t do because yes his grace is sufficient but he knows when pride has become an idol, even as a believer. It’s pride that separates us from God but love keeps us bonded and locked in forever in time. Pride is that toxic lover, that old friend, that idol in our lives that must be left behind. What has God asked you, convicted you to leave behind? This is what is heavy on my heart. To write this out. Convicted my own spirit. I cry out to the LORD and ask him to be gracious upon me because there’s so much sin I was born into, I don’t even have the awareness to identify it. It just became as natural as breathing, but the grace of God brings it to the surface and what a humbling experience it becomes. It draws me closer to the father.
I AM UNDONE. But I am not done, I’ve only just begun.

Even after all we’ve done to offend him. There is an offer to be cleansed from all those past and present offenses, if only you just destroy your idols, destroy your alters that are not dedicated to the MOST HIGH but to familiar, ancestral, worldly, pagan spirits. God is demanding it. It’s better you do it than him. God is offering deliverance through repentance. To repent is not just to admit you’re wrong but to complete turn away from the offense.  He’s offering a second chance. He’s offering a way out of the darkness. Don’t you see what’s happening before our very eyes? Don’t you see how the pleasure seekers are never satisfied. Don’t you see that wealth, fame, glamor, status of it all is complete vanity. It’s all chasing the wind. How do we have more faith in chasing the way of the wind that we cannot see but refuse to believe the words and presence of the invisible, almighty God? Why are we so stiff necked? Hardheaded? What kind of madness has overcome the people who seek the love of the loveless and reject the love of the one whose love has remained since the beginning of time. And yet wonder why they are so rejected and wounded and broken. Sometimes we break our own hearts. Yet he’s still loving enough to understand that the source of all this spiritual madness is demonic oppression. The very air we breathe is contaminated with the stink of sin. God knows it but he offers the breath of life. The pureness, fullness, wholeness in the midst of brokenness. But sometimes people become lovers of their brokenness. They become married to their oppressor. They become proud lovers of one sided love affairs; attached to who could never love them back hoping one day they will but that day never comes. But the LORD our God is the only lover I long for and the one for me will have the love of God so deeply in them. The only lover who’s ever loved me back. It’s not them but it’s him: it always has and it always will.

Hosea 14

(in part, please read the entire book)

Return, Israel, to the Lord your God.
    Your sins have been your downfall!
Take words with you and return to the Lord.
Say to him: Forgive all our sins
and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips.

“I will heal their waywardness
    and love them freely,for my anger has turned away from them.

9 Who is wise? Let them realize these things.
    Who is discerning? Let them understand.
The ways of the Lord are right;
    the righteous walk in them,
    but the rebellious stumble in them.
